allow me to extend a minute amount of symapthy to the forum members who waited with excitement the recent special jw meeting and attended.

perhaps it met your expectations?.

and, i almost, repeat, almost, feel sorry for those poor sods who deem it necessary to read the so called 'new' jw bible translation, and searching for all of the 'differences' from past releases.

I realize some of us are still learning or trying to figure out what that even means, but let this reaction help teach you about what that means....

Whew, that was a bit tricky for me, lol. Amazon does not have a kindle version yet, so I went to Lulu, but couldn't open your book (I am on a Mac) till I downloaded the ePub Reader app.

I don't post very often, but read here almost every day! Love this place and the wealth of info which can be found when searching the site.

And welcome all the newbies! It is quite a journey, having your mind start to see beyond "the veil".... The JWs would say that *we* are veiled, or seeing through veils, etc., but there are more veils than we know, lol. We start to see beyond the black and white thinking of the org, and it's quite amazing... It's almost like being re-born... like seeing the world open up again, and the "world" is really beautiful and amazing and full of discovery and wonders and wonderful things. (Yes, there are bad stuff and things, but that is usually a minority and NOT the majority, as JWs would have you believe!)

You will see. :)

I think the WTS has paid a lot of money to R & D and outside advertisers.

If they really did come up with this by themselves, they must be as deluded as ever to say such things. Because we all know how they can talk out of both sides of their mouth and totally believe both things.

i am very happy that my dear old mom is finally seeing the truth about the "truth".

what hit her like a ton of bricks is the latest wt.

study article that exalts the governing body and pretty much negates everything the bible students and russell, the founder of the watchtower, ever said was truth!.

If she has a lot of years invested in the WTBTS, this could be hard going for her as well. All her friends are there, and more family members?

So be gentle. She may not want to leave the congregation, especially if it has been giving her a lot of support. Bug good to see she is seeing beyond their bull-pucky. Just go slow. Walk gently, make sure she has a lot of support and love.

so, according to the new light, as presented at the agm (annual general meeting) last year in october 2012, (and being studied from the july 15/2013 wt in this month of september), whereby the faithful & discrete slave (fds) is now designated to mean the governing body only (and only when they come together as a group!!
